Call for Entry: CHAC's 5th Annual Juried Photography Show

Open to all photographers. Photographic processes that will be accepted are: non silver process, silver process, digital process, giclee prints, and any medium using a photographic process.

Show Rules:

Open to all photographers
Non-refundable entry fee for Chac Members: $20 or for non-members is $30 for 2 original works. Any additional works $15.00 each piece (members and non-members)
All works must be professionally finished and ready to hang. (no sawtooth or clip angers)
The largest framed dimension should be no larger than 36”
Works must be dropped off by August 27th before 5pm or postmarked to CHAC Gallery by August 27, 2009.
All works must be recent (within one year or less)
All works must be identified on the back with a completed entry form (see below)
All works must be picked up on Sept 26 between 9am and 12 noon, or a $10.00 storage fee will commence.

For your Entry Form:

List the title, medium, size, price, name, phone # and include the following:

"I (printed name) agree to all the condition/rules for this exhibition.

(signature & date)"

About the Judges:

Hal Gould

For over 40 years, Hal has been a tireless advocate of photographic art, and is himself a master photographer. He is owner of Camera Obscura Gallery in Denver since 1979. He has received numerous awards, among which are the prestigious National Award...the Gold Medal Grand Prize in the International Federation of Photographer’s Competition in Riga, Latvia.

Loretta Young-Gautier

Her work was formed by an early fascination with the Surrealist style of Rene Magritte, Remedios Varo and Giorgio de Chirico. She has continued in this vein, exhibiting her work in numerous group and solo shows, over the last twenty years. Loretta is currently Associate Director of Camera Obscura Gallery.

Awards to be Given: Best of Show -- Judges' Award -- Most Unique

Curators - Judy Miranda and Lucille Ruibal-Rivera
Sales - All work must be eligible for sale. A 25% commission is charged on all sales.
Liability & Responsibility - Chac will exercise reasonable care in handling all entries, but will not assume liability for loss or damage in shipping.

All delivery and pick up times must be met. Consider dates carefully before entering.

The Steamboat All Arts Festival (SAAF) Yampa River Art Stroll is juried and open to all artists.
Registration Deadline – Friday July 31st, 2009
The SAAF committee will not accept any late registrations. Confirmation notices will be sent within 3 weeks of receipt of your registration. This will also contain a map and visitor information. Exhibitor fees should be paid in full and included with your registration form.

Passion & Storms is a creative look at the unique relationship between Frida and Diego.

Artwork should reflect the theme of the show and be family friendly.

Drop off work on SUNDAY, June 28th, 2009 between 12 - 4 PM. Entry fee: $10 for every two pieces entered.

Chile Harvest Festival 2009

Planning for the Chile Harvest Festival is well underway. In conjunction with the City of Lakewood, CHAC Gallery presents Chile Harvest 2009 on August 29th and 30th.

We are accepting food vendor and artist applications until May 15th. Please call the gallery to have an application sent to you or stop by and pick one up.

Deadline is approaching fast. Join us for this great event!

Call for Entry - Milagros Del Corazon

Blank wooden hearts may be purchased at CHAC for $2 each. Please design and decorate them and return them to CHAC during business hours by Saturday February 7th. The entire surface of the wooden heart must be covered however you choose. All mediums are welcome. We are looking for your best effort in making this event our most successful ever! CHAC will provide hanging devices for wooden hearts.

CHAC is happy to accept any additional donations of artwork, goods, services and/or monetary donations. Please let us know. we appreciate your support!

Drop off your artwork Sunday November 9, 2008 between 12-4 PM, the same day you pick up your Dia De Los Muertos artwork.
All mediums are welcome, no limit on size or quantity.
Members free, non members $10.00 entry fee per piece.
Mercado type items such as prints, small gift type items, jewelry and pottery are great. Guadalupe items are always a hit! Paintings, sculpture and photography are great additions.
Show runs November 14 - December 20, 2008.
Opening reception December 5, 2008 6-10 PM.
Volunteers needed to help decorate the trees, gallery sit and hang the show any of the above days and during the show

2008 El Dia de Los Muertos –A Celebration of Life! Call for Entry

Theme: El Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead)

Requirements: Work must be based on the cultural theme of the day of the dead. Work must be professional framed and ready to hang. Art must be suitable for a family friendly environment. Use discretion for determining size and number of pieces, as there is limited space and there will be many artists. Artwork may be refused if deemed inappropriate for the exhibit.

Altars-We are encouraging small altars due to limited space. Prices start at $10.00 and go up per altar depending on size. Sunday set up only!

Entry fee: Free for members, or donation. $10 per entry for non-members.

Jury: to be announced. Work will be judged for first, second, third and honorable mention prizes.

Drop off deadline: Sunday October 19th from noon –4:00 PM, 774 Santa Fe Drive. You may also drop off work ahead of time during regular gallery hours prior to 10/19/08.

Opening Reception: Friday, October 24th, 2008 6:00pm – 10:00pm Featuring traditional Mexican refreshments, Aztec Dancers and face painting! Volunteers are needed for this event. We could use your help in several areas such as…hanging, decorating, set up, gallery sitting, reception, sales, storytelling, poetry, food and beverage support, kids art projects, gallery tours, and face painters! Please call us with the dates and times you can volunteer or sign up when you drop off artwork at CHAC.

Pick up date: Sunday November 9, 2008 from 12-4 PM. This is also the drop off date for our Christmas Mercado and Guadalupe Show!
